The All Liberian Independence Festival, LibFest 2026, ran from 24 to 26 July at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville, The Liberian Investigator reports.

Organisers put attendance at about 50,000 people and said more than 200 vendors and small businesses took part. The paper notes the attendance figure is the organisers’ own and has not been independently verified.

The festival took place while the official 179th Independence anniversary ceremonies were held in Buchanan. Organisers said promotional and community events in several counties had extended the celebration beyond Monrovia.

In June, FrontPageAfrica reported that the event platform The Gathering and Lib Brunch had announced the festival as a non-political, decentralised celebration intended to support tourism and grassroots entrepreneurs.
