Surna Technologies, a Liberian-founded sovereign AI and cloud infrastructure company, has been named a semi-finalist in Harvard University’s President’s Innovation Challenge, The Liberian Investigator reports.
The competition recognises promising student-led ventures from across Harvard’s 13 schools. Surna’s founder, Hellen S. Momoh, is a Harvard data science graduate student.
The company argues that African governments and institutions should control their own data and AI systems rather than outsource them.
