Central Bank of Liberia Executive Governor Henry F. Saamoi presented the country’s digital-payments work at MojaCom 32 in Accra, according to a Central Bank press release carried by FrontPageAfrica on 1 October.
Addressing regulators and technology leaders, he argued that financial inclusion increasingly depends on whether institutions and payment platforms can connect with one another. That assessment is the governor’s, not an independent finding by Today’s Liberia.
The release highlights the Pan-African Payment and Settlement System and Liberia’s Inclusive Instant Payment System. IIPS enables real-time transfers between Lonestar MTN Mobile Money and Orange Money Liberia; the Central Bank’s own launch remarks document its introduction in December 2025.
